Rosa Parks is a civil rights icon who is well known for not giving up her seat on a Montgomery Bus in 1955. Below are some facts that you may not know about Rosa Parks.

- Parks was a lifelong believer in self-defense. Malcolm X was one of her personal heroes
- Her husband was her political partner
- Many of Parks’ ancestors were Indians.
- Parks’ arrest had grave consequences for her family’s health and economic well-being
